Hikin in the Mud:



The Baldwin's and the Hogle's headed out for an Adventure to Lord Hill Regional Park in Snohomish. It was a gorgeous day yesterday, finally. We walked to Beaver lake which is probably about a mile there and let Dodge go swimming with the Beavers. Along the way, Hannah kept looking for horses. "Nah" she'd say.

Hannah hates it when her hands and feet get dirty. She kept showing me how dirty her cute little shoes were getting in the mud. You know how every little 2 year old mimics every little thing you do? Corey was carrying a walking stick and of course, Hannah had to have one too. It was super sweet. Daddy's little girl.

DeAnna is expecting her second red headed baby in July ;) and then as I am due in October, they will only be three months apart. Both of us will be stay at home Mothers. It will be fun together. ;)

Mercer Island Half Marathon

Race to the Finish!

So it all started with a Mohawk...

Whitney ran in the half marathon last year on Mercer Island and asked Casey to run with her this year. Over the last few weeks of training, Whitney ran on a sore big toe and Casey ran with chaffed nipples. It was only appropriate to have a Mohawk for the run.

Casey did not tell Whitney that he had a surprise for her. This is her reaction to Casey's Mohawk. Rolling her eyes in disbelief. Of course, Ed had brought Casey a surprise as well, a first aid kit of nipple relief. :) Ha ha

Whitney and Casey designed T-shirts to wear together for their run. Since Avery was supposed to be born on March 29th but was born on February 2nd, they made T-shirts that said "The Fetus Beat Us"

On the front, together their shirts said AVERY CUTE NEICE. They also made a shot at Nate saying that while they were running, he was at home eating Dorritos!

The Start of the Race!

"Oh, your brother has a Mohawk!" says Jamie. And they break out in laughter seeing their brother for the first time with his Mohawk. Attention Everyone: Nate has his Dorritos in hand!

Whitney and Casey's reaction to Nate and Jamie's reaction.

"Hey Casey, do you need Bandaids for your nipples?" Nate yells, as he lifts his shirt in front of the passing joggers to show his brother his own nipples. Of course, I wanted to blur out his naked belly so I took the picture with the jogger in front of the pervert flashing the crowd. :)

2:06 Minutes later, they finish the race! Casey is hungry!

We are very proud of Casey and Whitney for running 13.1 miles today. They did a great job! We had a lot of fun not only making fun of them, but cheering them on too.

Little Features

I had to post one more picture of Avery. Nate, her father is holding her and I love her small little features compared to her Daddy. Her tiny little hands and fingers, her cute little button nose, the tiny definitions in her lips and the soft fuzz of her eyebrows. She is just so precious.

5 weeks old and already, Think, Think, Think!

We had a wonderful dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Hogle's house this last Sunday. Grandpa Ed took Avery's five week old pictures and they were adorable. Weight gain and sweet little cries, Avery is doing very well. She might have a little too much fun during the night, but she sure enjoys sleeping during the day. Avery will soon realize that when the sun comes up that is when we play and when the moon comes up that is when we sleep! But one thing is for sure, she is going to be so smart because she is already thinkin at five weeks old.

Seattle Brain Cancer Walk, June 28, 2008

Cranium Crusade:

In Memory and Honor of: Larry Titus, Michael Little, Kyle Charvet, Ruth Ross, and Mike Thornhill. I will always remember you! Thank you for inspiring me to do great things in life.

After knowing five people close to me who had been diagnosed with brain cancer, I decided to get involved. Suprisingly, there were no activities or events for Brain Cancer. I thought a walk would be the perfect fundraiser to raise money for Brain Cancer research. I partnered with Dr. Greg Foltz, a Neurosurgeon at Swedish Medical Hospital who had been starting the first ever Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment in the Seattle area. My goal for the walk was to raise $200,000. We ended up raising $120,000 dollars with over 550 people attending the walk. Because of the success of the walk, Swedish granted, Dr. Foltz's Center a 2 million dollar endowment and decided to take over the walk. This was the first event in 14 years that Swedish wanted to be apart of long term. That means the world to me, because my goal was to raise money for brain cancer research, but to also create an event where people and families with brain cancer could go participate.

I lost a close friend from high school, Kyle Charvet in 2006 to brain cancer. I lost my close friend from work May of 2008. And recently in November, I lost my last friend out of my five people with brain cancer. This is dedicated to them!

Thor Radford, my very good friend and photographer, attended the walk and took videos and photographs for us. He did an exceptional job. He created this whole video for us! If anyone is looking for a great photographer, Thor Radford, is excellent. Thanks, Thor!
